Iconic Bollywood BFFs We Can’t Stop Talking About

Muneeza Anwer

Bollywood has always been big on friendships. Whether it’s sharing secrets over chai, going on wild adventures, or perhaps just having that friend by their side when things get tough, some of the best friendships ever have been the ones we've followed through the big screen. They made us laugh, cry, and most importantly reasons remind us why having a great friend by our side is so important. So, let’s take a walk down memory lane and revisit some of Bollywood’s most iconic on-screen friendships that we can’t stop gushing over.

Jai and Veeru (Sholay) –

We can’t talk about Bollywood friendships and not mention Jai and Veeru. They are the OGs in the bromance world! Their friendship was not only about fun and songs like “Yeh Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge” (who else sang this with their BFF?), but they were willing to risk everything for each other. Jai was even ready to sacrifice his life for Veeru’s happiness! It is that perfect blend of adventure, loyalty, and love that makes this duo unforgettable. Hands down, Jai-Veeru is still #FriendshipGoals.

Aakash, Sameer, and Sid (Dil Chahta Hai) –
ass

If Jai and Veeru were the friendship blueprint of the '70s, then Aakash, Sameer, and Sid are the millennial versions we all adore. Dil Chahta Hai set the bar for modern-day friendships. They're fun and real and face the ups and downs of life just like any group of besties would. From erratic road trips to Goa (because where else, right?) to major emotional fallouts, they showed us that even the strongest friendships aren't always smooth sailing. At the end of the day, however, when it gets tough, friends stick around. Also, don't we all secretly wish for a Goa trip like theirs? Sigh.

Rahul and Anjali (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) –
ra

This one's a little tricky coz Rahul and Anjali started out being BFFs but later turned into lovers. Anyway, before that love triangle kicked in, they were the epitome of college friendship, right? Remember their basketball matches? Or how Anjali could call out Rahul for being a bit of an idiot and still stick by him? Their friendship was so much beyond lovey-dovey stuff, especially when they could know each other by heart. And let’s be real, everyone wanted a friendship like theirs... before Tina entered the chat.

Kabir, Aditi, and Avi (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani)-
kaa

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is like the ultimate ode to friendships. Kabir (Bunny), Aditi, and Avi gave us everything, from heartbreaks to lifelong bonds. While Bunny chased his wanderlust dreams, Aditi and Avi were the anchors back home. Even after long periods of distance, they picked up right where they left off, proving that real friendships don’t need daily calls or texts, they just need love. Also, who can forget that beautiful wedding scene when everything comes full circle? Every gang needs that one trip to bring them closer.

Imran, Arjun, and Kabir (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) –
iak

If any Bollywood movie captures the beauty of being with your friends even as you grow, it is Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. This trio-Imran, Arjun, and Kabir-was complete chaos at the beginning (aren't we all?). Their epic road trip to Spain gave them all the space to reconnect. The underwater diving, skydiving, and, of course, the heart-to-hearts made them, and we realize that life was too short for grudges and missed chances. Bonus: It also gave us the best excuse to drag our friends on impromptu international trips. Seize the day, friends!

Farhan, Raju and Rancho (3 idiots)-

frr

3 Idiots gave us the super cool trio of Rancho, Raju, and Farhan, a friendship that symbolized breaking all rules, and always having each other’s backs. Rancho, the fearless free thinker-pushed Raju and Farhan out of social pressures into following one's heart. Even years after college, these two could not forget their buddy and set off on a hilarious, feel-good road trip to track him down. Now, that's just a perfect example of how true friendships never fade, no matter how much time passes, because when a friend changes your life, you'll go to any lengths to find them again!

Sonu and Titu (Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety)-
st

This one is a modern take on friendship and boy! did Sonu and Titu give us some major best-friend vibes? Sonu is the kind of bestie who will go to any lengths to prevent his friend from making crappy decisions-even if it means sabotaging Titu's love life! While the movie had enough comedy and drama but was a story of the bond between Sonu and Titu. Their friendship wasn’t perfect, but it proved that sometimes your best friend knows what's best for you even when you don't. Sonu's constant loyalty, which blended well with their hilarious bromance, made us wish to have at least one Sonu in our lives, right?
